Itinerary
Our arrival at Patna Airport The Capital of Bihar state, India. Meet and greet by Punpun Trails representative. Later dive to Darbhanga approx 145 kms / 4 Hours also known as the mithila capital of Bihar via Muzaffarpur. En-route visit The traditional Lahathi bangle-makers. You get chance to see the live making of Lacque Ware Muzaffarpur. After lunch at Local restaurant proceed to Darbhanga. Dinner and Overnight stay at Darbhanga.
After morning breakfast at hotel proceed to Madhubani approx 40 kms/ 1 Hours famous for Madhubani Painting . Madhubani painting is a traditional folk art of region of Bihar. Visit place like Jetwarpur, Ranti, Rasidpur, Bacchi, and Rajangarh are also well know for this unique art. You will visit Mithila Painting workshop at Ranti or Jitwarpur Village where female artist show you the method and art form of Madhubani painting. Get hands-on with the Madhubani artists and learn how this exquisite piece of art is created.Return to Darbhanga. Dinner and Overnight stay at Darbhanga..
Breakfast at hotel proceed for Half days city tour to visit The forts and havelies of Darbhanga Raj. Visit Laxmeshwar Vilas Palace, Nargauna Palace, Rambagh Palace, Bela Palace and The Chandradhari Museum. Later proceed to patna. After lunch, relax for an hour. In the evening, proceed to Patna Sahib to visit Takht Sri Patna Sahib Gurdwara, also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji — the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs and one of the five Takhts (Panj Takht) of Sikhism.,
After breakfast drive to Bodh Gaya En-route visit the ruins of Nalanda Mahavihara and oldest university of the World – a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Nalanda Museum collection of antiquities sculptures, inscription and stone images found from the excavated site.
Later proceed to Rajgir approx 15 Kms/ 30 Minutes the capital of ancient Magadh. After Lunch at Hotel visiting Gridhrakuta Hill also known as Vulture’s peak, where Buddha was said to have rested after the days preaching. Vishwa Shanti Stupa or World Peace Stupa was built by Japanese monk Fujii Guruji located at atop the Ratnagiri hills accessed by Chair Lift Aerial Ropeway. Venuvana also known as Bamboo Grove was built by King Bimbisara. Monastery surrounded by bamboo trees Buddha spent many of the rain-retreats
Later drive to Bodh Gaya – The land of enlightenment. Upon arrival check In hotel . Dinner and overnight stay at Bodh Gaya
After having breakfast at the hotel, the first visit on the list is the Mahabodhi Temple and the Bodhi tree. This place holds great importance as it marks the exact location where Lord Buddha achieved enlightenment and overcame the forces of Evil and Temptation to attain blissful Nirvana. After this, the tour will proceed towards the International monasteries of Thai, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Japan to explore their unique Buddhist culture and practices. The tour will also include a visit to the 80th Buddha Statue.
After lunch, the next destination will be Sujata Village, also known as Senani Village. This village holds significance in Buddhist history as it marks the place where the young maiden Sujata offered rice milk to end Sakyamuni’s hard asceticism. This incident inspired Lord Buddha to walk on the ‘Middle Path’ in every aspect of life. The site where he received the offering is marked by the Sujata Temple.
Later in the afternoon, the tour will continue to the Dungeshwari Caves. It is said that Prince Siddhartha performed austere meditation for years at this location, reducing himself to a skeleton. The place is considered sacred among Buddhists as it is believed to have been purified by Lord Buddha himself through continuous meditation.
The rest of the day is free for leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Bodh Gaya.
