Itinerary
Upon arrival at Gaya International Airport.Having cleared immigration, collected your luggage and passed through customs, please make your way towards the exit of the terminal building where you will see a bank of people waiting for you. Amongst them will be Punpun Trails Representative who will be waiting to greet you with a paging board with your name on.
Bodh Gaya is the place of the Buddha’s Enlightenment and spiritual home of Buddhist . It attract many believers from all over the world. Bodh Gaya situated near the river Niranjana, is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centers and in the second place of the four holy sites in Buddhism
You will be transferred to your hotel and assisted with check in. (Standard check in time at hotel is 1400 hrs)
Lunch at the hotel. Rest for an Hours. In evening attend Sutta Chanting ( 18:30 -19:00 ) at Mahabodhi ( Mahavihara) Temple – a sacred place for the Buddhists and the Mahabodhi tree, where Buddha attained enlightenment.
Mahabodhi Temple is regarded to have been constructed by Emperor Ashoka, who visited the sacred site 250 years after the Buddha’s enlightenment. It boasts of a 52 m tall spire that houses the colossal gilded image of Lord Buddha. In the sanctum sanctorum, Here, the awe-inspiring Buddha image sits in the Bhumisparsh Mudra (the earth-touching gesture), radiating a profound sense of serenity. It is said that the image is 1700 years old and positioned in a manner that Lord Buddha faces the east.

After breakfast at hotel visiting Mahabodhi Temple Complex: A World Heritage Property.
The Sacred Bodhi Tree –
the shades under which the Siddhartha Gautama meditated and attained Enlightenment on the full Moon day of Vaisakh Purnima (May month). This peepal tree’s botanical name is ficus religiosa. It was under this tree that the Buddha spent the first week in meditation after attaining Enlightenment.
Animesha Lochana Chaitya
Budddha continued to gaze at the great Bodhi tree, absorbed in divine contentment , In the 2nd week after attaining enlightenment ,with-out blinking his eyes. A stupa lies at site
Chankraman Asthal
After attaining enlightenment, Buddha walked around the sacred place; His foot print are figured in black stone, as also are 19 Lotus carving.
Ratanaghara
Buddha spent the 4th week meditating here a holy light in five different colours came out from his persona. These five colours are present in the Buddhist flag.
Ajapala Nigrodha Tree
The Ajapala Nigrodha tree is denoted by the pillar standing in its place on the eastern entrance of the temple complex. After attaining enlightenment, Buddha spent his fifth week in meditation here.
Muchalinda Sarovar
After Enlightenment , Loard Buddha spent the 6th week in mediation . It is said that a snake king , Muchalind protected him from heavy rains here.
Rajayatna Tree
Lord Buddha spent the last 7th week after his enlightenment here. He resolved to endeavour for all mankind and made two pupils Tapassu and Bhallika . He then started his journey towards Sarnath.
Later proceed to visit Sujata Village- a village named after a girl who offered milk to Gautama while proceeding towards Bodhgaya. Later, visit Niranjana River that flows from South to North on the banks of which Bodhgaya is situated.
After Lunch visit 80th Feet Buddha Statue and International Monastery ( Royal Bhutan Monastery , Burmese Vihara , Thai Monastery , Japan Monastery , Tibetan Monastery )
Dinner and Overnight stay at Bodh Gaya

After breakfast at hotel proceed to Dungeshwari Hill caves approx. 20 Kms one way – Gautama is believed to have meditated here for a long period before moving to Bodh Gaya . A golden bony Buddha statue is enshrined in one of the cave temples;in the other , a tall Buddhas’s statue is placed. A concreted walkway leads to the temple. This mountain is also know Pragbodhi Mountain.
Rest of the day is free . In the evening visit Mahabodhi Temple . Overnight stay at Bodh Gaya
