Direct flights from Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Guwahati to Deoghar by December

In a major boost to regional air connectivity, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has granted in-principle approval to launch direct flights from Deoghar to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Guwahati by December.

The new routes are expected to significantly improve connectivity for pilgrims and tourists visiting Baidyanath Dham, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas and among the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. The enhanced air connectivity will also benefit Jain pilgrims traveling to Shri Sammed Shikharji (Parasnath), one of the most revered Jain pilgrimage sites in India.

The initiative is expected to provide greater convenience to devotees from across the country, particularly those traveling from western, southern, and northeastern India.

The demand for direct flights from Gujarat and Rajasthan to Deoghar had been pending for a long time. MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey had urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to introduce direct air services connecting Deoghar with Ahmedabad and other major cities.

According to the MP, the Ahmedabad and Hyderabad flights will benefit travelers from western and southern India, while the Guwahati service will provide convenient access for pilgrims and visitors from Assam and the Northeastern states.
